Requesting Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) E-Filing Access
Overview
Once the Texas Unemployment ID has been entered in Payroll Relief, a few additional steps are needed to enable e-filing with the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). This article outlines the process from enabling the registration in Payroll Relief through receiving approval from the TWC.
Prerequisites
- The Texas Unemployment ID must already be entered in Payroll Relief. If it has not been entered yet, refer to the article Setting Up the Texas Unemployment ID in Payroll Relief.
- A system administrator must be set up for the client with the TWC.
Step 1: Enable UI E-File Registration in Payroll Relief
- Click the Gear icon and navigate to E-Services > Taxes > Texas.
- Check the box for Registered For UI E-File.
- Click Save.
Once saved, the client will appear on our screens and we will submit an access request to the TWC.
Step 2: TWC Administrator Approval
After the access request is submitted, the TWC will send an email to the system administrator's email address on file. The email contains a link that the administrator must click to go to the TWC website and grant access.
When granting access, only the following permissions are required:
- Report Filing
- Payments
- Account Info
Step 3: Confirmation and Activation
Once the administrator approves the request, the TWC sends a confirmation email advising whether the request was approved or denied. Upon approval, we will verify the permissions on the TWC to ensure they match what is required. Once confirmed, the permissions are enabled and the client is ready to e-file.
Key Takeaways
- Enabling the UI E-File registration in Payroll Relief is what makes the client visible for an access request to be submitted.
- The TWC system administrator for the client plays a key role — they must approve the access request through the link provided by the TWC.
- Only three permissions are needed: Report Filing, Payments, and Account Info.
- E-filing is ready to go once the permissions are confirmed and enabled on our end.
