Updating Portal 4.5 Manually

Hello Doc-It Support Staff,

As of this writing there is no Auto-Update package for portal.  As so, updates are manual.

The current update will bring you to portal version 1.1.07.30.  To determine clients current portal version browse to their portal website and hit F12



Latest Portal Updates require Doc-it version 4.5.269

What portal consists of:
Doc.It Server:

DocIT WCF Communications Server service and the C:\Program Files (x86)\Doc.It Suite 4\Doc.It Server Components 4\WcfService folder on the Docit Server

Portal Server:

3 websites and related folders on a separate IIS server:
      C:\DocITPortal\PortalUI
      C:\DocITPortal\WebAPI
      C:\DocITPortal\WebUI


How to perform and update:


As of the time of this writing, the updates are currently located on the FTP server under the /DEVELOPMENT/JohnQB/Cloud Project/Setup/ folder .  Look for the latest folder, then look for a folder named update

  1. Download the latest Doc.It WCF.zip package from the FTP to the Doc.It Server
  2. Shutdown the DocIT WCF Communications Server service
  3. Make a backup of the C:\Program Files (x86)\Doc.It Suite 4\Doc.It Server Components 4\WcfService folder
  4. Copy the contents of the \WCF-Update###\WCFService\* and overwrite to the C:\Program Files (x86)\Doc.It Suite 4\Doc.It Server Components 4\WcfService folder
  5. Start the the DocIT WCF Communications Server service
  6. Download the latest PortalWebsites.zip package from the FTP to the IIS Server
  7. Shutdown the World Wide Web Publishing Service service
  8. Make a backup of the C:\DocITPortal folder
  9. Copy the contents of each of the folders within the Web-Update### folder and overwrite to their counterparts, as demonstrated below

    PortalWebsites\PortalUI\*  =>  C:\DocITPortal\PortalUI\*
    PortalWebsites\WebAPI\*  =>  C:\DocITPortal\WebAPI\*
    WPortalWebsites\WebUI\*  =>  C:\DocITPortal\WebUI\*
  10. Start the World Wide Web Publishing Service service

Please update Zoho CRM with new portal version 1.1.07.30
