Add or Edit Assets
This page allows you to manually add single or multiple assets to your database and edit any details held for your assets.
The process is the same for all asset types, including soft assets, such as licences and contracts.
Edit an Existing Asset
Select Manage > Edit Assets.
Enter the Asset ID or Asset Name in ID or Name. Existing assets are displayed as you enter a name or number. Select the required asset.
From this page you can change any item, including the option to re-label an asset (useful if the original asset tag has been removed).
Select Go to save the changes.
Multiple Status Change
Select Click here to edit the Current Status of multiple assets.
The Manage Assets - Bulk Status Change page is displayed. You can copy a list of information to change the Status of multiple assets.
If you have a list of Asset IDs or Serial Numbers, paste them from a CSV file, select the check box if the first row is made up of column headers, then select the question you want to change from the drop-down list. Select the new status of the assets, then Go to save the details.
The Manage Assets - Bulk Status Change Confirm page is displayed, where the number of assets that are to be updated are displayed. Select Go to confirm the changes.
The Manage Assets - Multiple Status Change page is displayed and confirms the changes have been made.
Edit Multiple Assets
To edit multiple assets select the required Asset Type, Location, and Department, then select Go.
You can change all of the questions in the first listed asset then use Copy to change all of the assets and the Asset Type for all listed assets.
Edit Multiple Assets by Asset Type
To edit all assets of a specific Asset Type irrespective of the Location or Department, select the Asset Type, then Go.
You can change the answers for up to a maximum of 3 questions.
Edit Multiple Assets by Location
To edit all assets in a specific Location irrespective of the Asset Type or Department, select the Location, then Go.
You can change the answers for up to a maximum of 3 questions.
Edit Multiple Assets by Department
To edit all assets in a specific Department irrespective of the Asset Type or Location, select the Department, then Go.
This will allow you to change the answers for up to a maximum of 3 questions.
Update from Import
This section allows you to paste asset information from a CSV file and to modify the information. Make sure the Asset ID is in column A and that the answers to up to 3 questions you want to modify are in columns B, C, and D. Select the check box if the first row is made up of column headers, then select Go.
The Import Assets - Assign Asset Tags page is displayed where you can choose which questions you want to update. Select the drop-down option against each of the 3 columns B, C, and D.
Select Go to display the Edit Assets - Update Complete page with a list of the assets and changes.
Add Asset
Select Manage > Add Assets.
Enter an Asset ID and Asset Name, then select the Asset Type, Department, and Location of the new asset.
Select Go to save.
Create Multiple Assets
This section allows you to add up to 50 identical assets at a time. Select the number of assets you want to add in the first drop-down. Enter the first Asset ID number in Starting from ID . Select the Asset Type, Department, Location, and Current Status from the drop-down lists, then select Go.
Asset Questions for.......
In this section are the questions that relate to the Asset Type. Answer all the questions by entering the details or select an option from the drop-down lists. If you do not have an answer to enter, leave the question blank. Select Go to create the assets.
Any answers entered are applied to all the assets you are adding.
