Edit Asset

The Manage-Edit Asset section can be used to edit answers for the asset displayed, including the ability to change the Location, Department, and Asset Type.

To change the Location, select Change. A window is displayed. Select the required location, then select Save to return to the Edit Asset. Repeat for Department and Asset Type, as required.

You can edit any of the other answers given to this asset by making changes to the relevant section, including the removal of Media. To remove a media item, select Remove next to the relevant item.

Repeat these steps to complete all of the required changes.

It is recommended that you save changes made to the Asset Status section before making changes to the Media section.

Select Save below the questions/media to update the asset information.

All changes that have been made to an asset are displayed in the Asset History section. Changes are indicated by a new line in the section and include the name of the user who made the change and are dated with the most recent change at the top of the list.

To view the changes made select the relevant date link. The Asset History page with the asset details is displayed. This Sync and Previous Sync display the date and time of the last and previous change. The items in red indicate the changes made at that point.

To see all changes made since a date shown, select the relevant date link. The Asset History page with the asset details is displayed. Select See all asset history before this sync link to display the changes made (in red) before the chosen date.

A Compare all asset history link is available once multiple changes have been recorded. Select the link and the User is presented with all of the changes that have been made to this asset. This is especially useful if the User wants to look at previous entries, e.g. meter readings, conditions etc. The items in red indicate the changes made at that point.

The Asset Tickets section displays all of the Support Tickets raised for this Asset, with the date, title, user, status of the ticket, and all of the notes relating to the tickets.

The Asset Documents section displays all of the uploaded documents for this asset with a Delete link if the document is no longer required. There is also an Upload A New Document link allows documents to be added to the asset.

The Network Device section displays the information that the Discovery tool has found on the most recent check. It contains a list of Fields and the corresponding Results returned. (This information is only be present if Asset ID has been added in the Discovered Network Devices page).

There are two links at the bottom of the page. The first one allows you to create up to a maximum of 50 copies of this specific asset. The second one allows you to re-label the asset (very useful where the asset tag has been removed) without adding to the number of assets on the database.
