- Search for, then select the required client.
-
Select Client > Task Pad from the menu, then select Job Details. The Jobs for page is displayed listing all the jobs for the current client.
-
Click New Job. By default, the New Job for page enables a job to be created from a template. If templates are not used, or you want to create a one off job that doesn't require a lot of information, click Create the Job Manually. See Create new jobs manually.
-
Select a service to which the job is being applied. The list of available templates is updated to reflect those relevant to the selected service.
-
Select a Template for the job. The Job Timing panel is populated based on the client's year end details and the fiscal/tax year defined in the template. Amend any of this information if required.
The tax year is only displayed if a system tax job template has been selected. -
In the Job Management section, enter the expected value of the fee for the job in the Job Billing Value field if not already populated (this field is mandatory). This will be used in Based on Job or Based on Schedule billing types as the total value of the bills.
- The Partner, Manager and In-Charge are either populated from the template or default to the staff members set on the Details page of the selected service (see Specify client services). These can be amended as required.
- The Job Code is populated with any code entered in the job template. If no code was set, manually enter a code or leave blank for the system to automatically generate one.
- Finally, the Job Name is populated with template name, and may also display the fiscal year. This can be amended as required, but must be unique to the client.
- Click Create to create the job. The job is then listed in the Jobs for grid. Click Open Job to add/edit job details, or click the job to expand the job details in the grid.
