Filter Components
Filter Components are collections of multiple Elements that can be used to pass grouping or filter requests to another report. Multiple Elements might constitute part of a Dropdown Component, but Elements could also be used for, e.g. date prompts, or simply empty cells expecting input. A Filter Component would usually form the ‘Master Component’ of a Master Detail Component.
To access Filter Components:

In the Setup menu bar, select Components / Filter Components.
To locate an existing Filter Component, use either the filters in the column headers or the scroll bar and the page navigation controls in the grid footer (for details, see Column Filters and Page Navigation).
To create a new Filter:
- Click New to display the Create Filter Component screen.
In each grid row:
- Edit - Displays the Edit Filter Component screen, which displays only the Filter Label field in read-only mode.
- Delete - Displays a Delete Confirmation prompt, in which you must either confirm or cancel the deletion of the selected Filter Component.
- Preview - Displays a preview of the control defined by the selected Filter Component in a new tab.Previews are dependent on Group permissions. For details, see Security.
- Elements - Displays the Filter Element List for the selected Filter Component.
